Scholarship Awards for 2012
1. Scholarship
Awards for Undergraduate College Students (2012/13)
The Swiss Benevolent Society is sponsoring scholarship awards
for undergraduate college students of Swiss descent having permanent
residence in the greater Chicago area. The goal is to support and encourage
students to pursue an education tailored to their interests and talents.
High School Seniors or College students can apply.
- The applicant must be either
a Swiss national with permanent US residency permit or of Swiss descent
with documents of proof.
- The applicant must reside
permanently in the state of Illinois or Southern Wisconsin (Dane, Grant,
Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Kenosha, LaFayette,
Milwaukee, Ozoukee, Racine, Rock, Walworth,
Washington, and Waukesha counties only).
- Swiss students studying in
the US on a student or visitor's visa are not eligible.
- Applications will be
available on this website or through the mail.
- Application deadline: April
15, 2012.
- Notification: Financial need
not being a requirement, all candidates will be judged on academic merit
only. Winners will be notified after July 31, 2012.
- Award level: Awards are for
tuition only. (Preference will be given to applicants studying for their
first undergraduate degree.)

Scholarship Awards for a Two-Week Language Immersion in the Summer of 2012
The Swiss Benevolent Society is sponsoring scholarship awards
for a language immersion experience in French, German, or Italian at the
Concordia Language Villages in Northern Minnesota in the summer of 2012.
- Any student between the ages
of 8 to 18 residing in Illinois, Wisconsin, or Indiana can apply.
- Applications will be
available on this website or through the mail.
- Application deadline: March 31, 2012
- Notification: Winners will
be selected from the pool of applicants through a random drawing.
Winners will be notified by April 31, 2012.
- Awards are for tuition only.
Winners are responsible for travel costs.
